Hoa Binh Pagoda, also called Serey Pothi Meangkol Puthle Chas, is one of the oldest and most venerable temples in Bac Lieu Province. Located in Hamlet A1 of Hoa Binh Township, the pagoda was founded about 400 years ago and safeguards the rich historical, cultural and spiritual heritage of the local Khmer community. Founded roughly four centuries ago, the shrine preserves priceless historical, cultural and spiritual values for the indigenous Khmer people.
Hoa Binh Pagoda stands out with its traditional Khmer architecture, strongly influenced by Theravada Buddhist culture. Around the grounds, structures such as the main hall, stupas and ornate gateways are exquisitely crafted, blending architectural artistry with nature. A highlight came in 2023 when the pagoda inaugurated the Buddha Relic Stupa and a lotus pond symbolizing the Ni Lien River, adding new spiritual and aesthetic accents.
The sanctuary is not only a local place of worship but also an alluring stop for travelers keen to explore Khmer culture and beliefs in the Mekong Delta. Thanks to its serene atmosphere, distinctive architecture and long history, Hoa Binh Pagoda is a spiritual destination not to be missed when visiting Bac Lieu.
