Bac Lieu boasts a 56‑kilometre coastline in a tropical monsoon climate, creating perfect conditions for wind‑power development. There are currently four wind‑power projects under construction in the province. Among them, the Bac Lieu Wind Farm is the largest, most modern and most picturesque. It is a captivating spot for travellers to Bac Lieu, often nicknamed the “wind field”.
The Bac Lieu Wind Farm has become a magnet for visitors, especially young people. The site is essentially a wind‑power plant with hundreds of gigantic turbines. These turbines make the perfect selfie backdrop. Be sure not to miss anything when you visit!
Construction of the Bac Lieu Wind Farm began in 2010 with an investment of roughly VND 1 trillion. Sixty‑two 80‑metre towers with 42‑metre blades rise at sea level, creating a poetic and majestic panorama found nowhere else.
The wind farm was built to generate and supply clean energy to the vast Mekong Delta region. Unexpectedly, it has turned into a hot spot for tourists in Bac Lieu. The turbines are interspersed with elevated concrete walkways above the sea, making it easy for visitors to get around.
